Carly Baez, ARMSA's Director of Safety and Member Services, was named Vice President of the Executive Board of the Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). Founded in 1911, ASSE is the world's oldest professional safety society, and is committed to protecting people, property and the environment. ASSE, with its more than 36,000 members, promotes the expertise, leadership and commitment of its members, while providing them with professional development, advocacy and standards development. It also sets the occupational safety, health and environmental community's standards for excellence and ethics.

Carly has been a board member of the Arizona Chapter since 2015 and has held multiple positions. Her passion for a safer work environment, attention to detail, and her enthusiasm for creating safety solutions in under-served industries makes her an excellent addition to the 2018 Executive Board.

Carly's new role within this group of volunteers who are dedicated to safety is a four year succession position which after her year as Vice President, she will be Arizona Chapter of ASSE's President Elect in 2019, President in 2020, and finally Past President in 2021.

In addition to her involvement with ASSE, Carly also sits on the Board of Directors as Digital Media Chair for Kids' Chance of Arizona, and is a coalition partner for Drive Smart Arizona. We are very proud of Carly's new role within this group and look forward to watching her leave her mark within the safety community.
